The Love First Project
Transforming Lives, Empowering Families
A Community of Hope
Love First is our grand vision for a life-changing community campus that will include housing, paired with supportive services, for up to 70 families. It will provide a place of transition and growth for families in Denton County seeking to break the cycle of housing instability and transform their lives!
Housing instability is affecting a growing number of families each year in Denton County. Stable, affordable housing is vital, and we believe that, in combination with community and relationships, transformation occurs. Love First will provide a holistic solution.
Love First Transitional Housing Program
🌱 Year 1: Stabilization | Career Growth | Community with a Cohort
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
While parents are in class, kids are in school, and babies are cared for in daycare — so the whole family grows together.
Program Overview:
Three semesters: two 16-week terms and one 12-week term.
Mornings – Academic Foundations:
In your first semester, you’ll learn on-site (256 hours) with dedicated instructors who meet you where you are.
In the second and third semesters, you’ll move into a custom education path through our local community college — whether that’s finishing your GED, earning a certificate, or starting a degree.
Afternoons – Life Skills & Personal Growth (420 hours):
Learn essential skills like parenting strategies, financial literacy, time and stress management, effective communication, and how to connect with community resources.
Evenings – Family & Community Time:
Tutoring support for kids.
Two nights each week for Life Skills Night and Community Fun Night, designed to build confidence, friendships, and joy.
🌟 Year 2: Financial Independence | Career & Education | Community Leadership
Year two is all about building momentum.
Finish school or move into your chosen career path.
Continue with evening programming to stay connected and supported.
Give back by mentoring first-year participants and serving in the community — sharing your journey and leadership with others.
🏡 Housing & the Path Forward
Every resident in the Rise Program begins with a plan for long-term stability. From day one, our case managers and coaches work alongside families to set goals, track progress, and prepare for a successful transition to permanent housing.
Together, we build not just stability — but independence, confidence, and community.
