Updates on Love First

Love First Campus officially broke ground in December 2025, marking a transformational step forward in addressing family homelessness in Denton County. The Family Shelter, anticipated to be completed by Thanksgiving 2026, will include 20 housing units with 80 beds, dedicated to serving homeless mothers and children in a safe, supportive, and healing environment. The entire Cornerstone Phase represents a $14.6 million investment in long-term community impact and is already 74% funded, demonstrating strong community confidence and strategic financial planning.

Funding for this phase includes first-year operational costs, ensuring the shelter launches with the staffing, programming, and support services necessary for successful operation. In addition, existing transitional housing and hotel grant funding streams will help sustain and support ongoing operational costs in future years, creating a strong foundation for long-term sustainability. Through careful planning, diversified funding strategies, and centralized operations, Love First Campus is positioned not only to open successfully but to continue serving families effectively for years to come.

Why a Love First Campus

Love First Campus is a transformative community designed to move families from homelessness to healthy, stable living through housing, life skills development, and compassionate community connection, while centralizing our operations to work more effectively and consistently with families in a single supportive environment.

By bringing services together in one location, the campus helps break down barriers to transportation, childcare, and access to essential resources, allowing families to receive support more efficiently and progress toward stability faster than through scattered-site services spread across multiple locations. Centralizing services also fosters meaningful community connections among families, staff, and support systems, creating a strong sense of belonging and encouragement that is essential for long-term healing, stability, and success.

  • The Love First Cornerstone Phase represents a foundational step in creating a centralized campus designed to serve families experiencing homelessness and housing instability with greater effectiveness and continuity of care. This phase establishes the core infrastructure needed to bring housing, case management, life skills programming, family support services, and community resources together in one location, allowing families to access comprehensive support in a safe and compassionate environment. By centralizing operations and services, the Cornerstone Phase strengthens collaboration among staff, improves program accessibility for families, and creates a pathway from crisis to healthy, stable living through customized support, meaningful relationships, and long-term community connection, all in a single location.

  • The Pathways Phase of the Love First Campus represents the next step in expanding transformational support for families experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Denton County. As the West Quad of the campus development, this phase will add transformational housing for 12 additional families, increasing the total number of families served to 44, while also introducing a dedicated on-site childcare facility to support parents as they pursue employment, education, and long-term stability. With an estimated investment of $6.1 million, the Pathways Phase reflects Giving Grace’s commitment to creating a holistic community where families are not only housed but also empowered through support, dignity, and practical resources that help break cycles of poverty and build sustainable futures.

  • The Healthy Living Phase of the Love First Campus expands the vision of transformational community care by adding housing for 12 additional families and creating a dedicated Counseling and Ministry Facility to support emotional, spiritual, and relational healing. As the East Quad of the campus, this phase will increase the total number of families served to 56 across Denton County, providing families with access to faith-based counseling, mentorship, and holistic support as they work toward long-term stability and independence. With an estimated project cost of $4 million, the Healthy Living Phase reflects Giving Grace’s commitment to nurturing not only physical housing needs but also the emotional and spiritual well-being of every family on their journey from crisis to healthy living.

  • The Completion Phase of the Love First Campus represents the final step in creating a fully integrated community of hope and restoration for families experiencing homelessness in Denton County. As the South Quad of the campus, this phase will add transformational housing for 8 additional families, increasing the campus capacity to serve 60–70 families at a time, while also developing a peaceful orchard and south garden designed to foster wellness, connection, and healing. With an estimated investment of $2 million, the Completion Phase reflects Giving Grace’s vision of creating not only stable housing but a thriving environment where families can rebuild their lives, experience community, and move toward lasting independence and healthy living.
